Why did you open Blue Sky Wellness Studio? I opened it to offer a sense of community, both for our practitioners and for the neighborhood, along with offering high quality, personalized health care.
What are you doing when you’re not working at Blue Sky?
I work out- pilates, yoga and going to the gym. I play with my son, Lincoln, I watch movies with my husband. I take little weekend trips with our family sometimes. Sometimes I go to continuing education workshops.
What do you love about working at Blue Sky?
I love my patients. I think they’re super cool. I love the neighborhood. And we have some very talented and interesting coworkers.
What do your clients love about your services?
I try to really explain the process and be personable. I make a connection and give them information to help them improve their quality of life; I give them things they can do at home and try to educate them. My clients love my massage.
What makes your service unique?
I like to mix in a lot of therapies: aromatherapy, cupping, color therapy, heat, and guasha (spoon scraping), electro-acupuncture, ear seeds. I make every treatment unique. I really love working with pain, posture and body structure.
What gets you up in the morning?
My son gets me up every morning. Literally. I like to be busy and productive, to get things done in my business.
What is your secret to life?
To keep learning and growing.
What are you are passionate about in the work?
I’m passionate about learning more about body mechanics and body structure. I’m passionate about making people feel better, improving their comfort and living fuller, happier lives.
What is your favorite thing in the neighborhood?
The unique businesses and the great business owners on the street. They are all really bad-ass, creative and resilient, and self-motivated. I also like eating out and window shopping.
