Five Supplements That You Should Be Taking

1.  Whole Food Multivitamin

Why?  Because 99.9% of people are not eating the variety of organic, nutritious foods that they need to get all their vitamins and minerals.

Note:  If you are a woman of childbearing years, be sure your multivitamin includes 30 mg of iron (usually in a women’s multi or pre-natal vitamin.)  If you are not in this category, skip the extra iron.

Why wholefood?  Because vitamins made from actual foods have much better absorption in the body.

 

2.  Essential Fatty Acids (Fish oil or Flax oil- 2 Tablespoons/day)

Why?  Because unless you are eating tons of nuts, seeds, and clean, fatty fish you probably have a short supply of good fats.

 

3.  Vitamin D (2,000 IU/day)

Why?  Because if you’re reading this and you live in the Pacific Northwest, you’re not getting enough light exposure for a healthy brain, bones and immune system.

 

4. Probiotics

Why?  Because unless you live on an organic farm and eat fresh from the soil amazing food, you’re missing out on the microbes your gut needs to fight illness and digest well.

 

5.  Calcium/Magnesium Supplement

Why?  Because these essential nutrients are found in only minimal amounts on your mulitvitamin, and dairy foods are actually not a great way to get calcium.
